Transgender, Nonbinary, and Gender-Diverse Patients of the Pacific Northwest
Two and a half hours (including built in breaks) of material specific to transgender culture and patient needs in the PNW. This content is designed for current or future clinicians and other professionals who work with patients. The format includes lecture, small group activities, introspection prompts, and Q&A, and covers a wide range of material specific to transgender, nonbinary, and gender diverse patients who are part of the PNW community. “Gender Diverse Patients of the Pacific Northwest” has no cap on participants.
This workshop can be done all at once as a 150-minute intensive talk sprinkled with the above activities, or spread out into three 90-minute discussion-based sessions. Both formats use small group activities.
Gender-Neutral Language Techniques in English
This highly interactive and practical workshop is designed for participants of all English skill levels and has 90-minute and 120-minute versions to choose from (each with built in breaks) depending on your institution’s needs. After a brief introduction of important contextual information, participants build their own tool kits for gender free language in English by working together in small groups to learn a series of methods provided by the instructor. Material is applicable to everything from casual conversation to professional emails.
“Gender-Neutral Language Techniques for English” caps at 25 participants. This workshop relies heavily on small group activities and must be presented in person or using software that has breakout rooms.
Gender Diversity 101
This workshop is for groups who have little to no exposure to topics related to gender diversity. Are you unsure what words like transgender, cisgender, enby, cissexism, and binarism mean? Did you know that there is a difference between sex and gender? Are you confused about why pronouns are a big deal? This workshop will cover these and other basics. Content is tailored to fit the context of the group that hires the instructor. Depending on number and nature of desired topics, length of time for this workshop can vary from 1 to 3 hours.
